Reference the "Other Views" article of July 9, 2008. The writer stipulated that "Americans can live with another amnesty for illegal immigrants, as long as it's the last". What a stupid statement! Could anyone trust our government if they were to pass a bill which made an amnesty the last one that would ever be given? And, I don't believe Americans can live with any form of amnesty. Except for Bill O'Reily and my cousin John in Pennsylvania, everyone I know wants the illegals removed from our country

By what right could she assume such drivel? And, why would the newspaper print her article of a lot more than 300 words, which is all I'm allowed? Her article is simply Democratic left-wing propaganda, similar to Hitler's minister of propaganda, Joseph Goebles. It's an example of trying to dictate to us using convoluted logic.

She also states, "Once the public feels confident the government means business about stopping future illegal immigration, it will accept amnesty".

Fist of all, the public will never accept amnesty. And, second of all, how could we ever become confident of the government meaning business on any issue, let alone illegal immigration?

In conclusion I must say this was a stupid article for our local newspaper to print.
